Calvary Baptist Church

Music and Worship

The purpose of our music ministry at Calvary Baptist Church is to enable the entire congregation to worship the King of Kings, our Savior and Lord, with a focus to bring all closer to Him. With this in mind, we have many opportunities to serve the Lord with music.

Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion;
    Declare among the peoples His deeds.

- Psalm 9:11

A cantata is presented each year at Christmas time. This group also sings annually at our community Thanksgiving Eve service and Good Friday service

Young Voices Choir

Young Voices Choir

This children’s choir is for those aged 4 – 8th grade. They practice once a week and sing in the morning service once a month or so. Besides singing, this group also prepares musical selections using handbells. Skits and/or musicals are often incorporated in their ministry. They also sing at Kade Nursing Home twice a year.

Offertory

Talented youth and adults are given the opportunity to serve the Lord by presenting offertory selections. We have musicians gifted on piano, flute, trumpet, French horn, clarinet, guitar, and more.

Special Music

Soloist Many serve the Lord in our music ministry through the presentation of solos, duets, trios, or quartets. Besides the choir, there is usually a special music selection at each morning service.

Worship Team

This group consists of a worship leader and singers, as well as instrumentalists who lead the congregation in a musical time of worship. The worship is a blend of hymns, choruses, and newer worship music.

God has ascended with a shout,
    The LORD, with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises;
    Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth;
    Sing praises with a skillful psalm.

- Psalm 47:5-7
