ARTICLE VIII: LICENSING & ORDAINING
SECTION 1: LICENSING
Any member who in the judgment of the Church gives evidence (by his lifestyle, zeal and ability to teach) that he is called of God to the work of the ministry, after having preached in the hearing of the Church and upon the recommendation of the Elders, may be licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ by three-fourths (3/4) of the members present and voting at any business meeting.
SECTION 2: ORDAINING
If the Pastor or any other Scripturally qualified and properly trained member of the Church desires to be ordained, the Elders of the Church shall contact the Ordination Advisory Committee of the Mid-Atlantic Conservative Baptist Association.
If this committee deems the candidate qualified, the Church may proceed to hold an ordination council of Baptist and like-minded Pastors and leaders. Once the council gives its recommendation, the Church will vote whether or not to ordain the candidate and set a date for the Ordination Service.
