SECTION III: TEAM MINISTRIES - DISCIPLESHIP
Qualifications:
The leaders of this ministry team will be selected for their experience in teaching, their desire to minister in this area, and their ability to train and motivate others in disciplining both children and adults. They must have a working understanding of the educational ministries of the church, a desire to carry them out and a vision for how they can be improved.
Responsibilities:
This ministry team is to work in conjunction with the Elders in establishing, maintaining, staffing, promoting, and constantly improving teaching/edifying programs such as:
1) Sunday School
2) KING's Club
3) Vacation Bible School
4) Summer Camps and Bible Clubs
5) Midweek Bible Studies, Clubs and Teen Ministries
6) Bible Studies for New Converts
7) Other Educational Ministries
8) Training Opportunities
Library:
The Discipleship Team shall have the ability to delegate the responsibilities of maintaining the Library and shall be responsible for the oversight of such delegation as follows:
a) Determine and establish library policies, rules and regulations which shall determine the use of the Library.
b) Help select and train staff personnel.
c) Hold regular conference periods on books needed for the Library and assist in selecting specific titles in order to assure a well-balanced reading program for every age group in the church.
d) Encourage good reading habits and raise the reading level of the church members.
e) Determine time, date and plans for regular Library emphasis in the church calendar.
f) Plan the arrangement of the Library for better service and more attractive appearance.
g) Assist in guiding a reading program at the church that will result in Spiritual benefit to the entire church family.
This ministry team will be responsible for developing, choosing and securing materials needed for these programs in network with the Elders and Treasurer. In each area the leaders are to seek to be good stewards of the finances and gifted people with which God has blessed us.
Since Christian Education is such a large part of the church ministry, it is expected that this ministry team will share the responsibilities and leadership necessary as broadly as possible.
