SECTION III: TEAM MINISTRIES - GREETING/USHERS
Purpose:
This ministry team exists to make all attendees feel welcome. They may utilize other members and regular attendees to help carry out the responsibilities of this ministry.
Responsibilities:
This ministry team is to work under the authority of the Elders to organize and oversee greeters and ushers. In regard to ushers, the responsibilities of the team are:
1) To have a sufficient number of ushers or usherettes for the activities of seating, handing out literature, etc. as outlined as "Responsibilities of Ushers" (below).
2) To make an ongoing schedule of usher and greeters, and provide a copy of this schedule to the Media Team.
3) To see that a sufficient supply of registration cards, envelopes and other materials are kept on the usher's table and in the pew racks.
4) To keep record of those members attending all services, and to provide the Elders with a weekly listing of those who were unable to attend any services during the week.
The team will also make sure the following are carried out:
Appoint a Head Usher whose responsibilities are as follows:
1) See that the Sanctuary/meeting rooms are properly lighted.
2) See that the Sanctuary is at a comfortable temperature.
3) See that the pulpit is supplied with fresh water for the speaker.
4) See that a count is made of attendance and recorded in the church office.
Staff Greeters for Morning Worship Service whose responsibilities are as follows:
1) See that all those entering the Sanctuary are greeted.
2) See that Worship Folders and/or written materials are handed out.
3) See that all visitors are welcomed, aske3d to fill out registration cards, and are informed of the facilities they may need (e.g. the nursery, restrooms, etc.).
4) Be at the double doors by 10:15 a.m. to carry out these responsibilities.
