On Saturday, September 13th, Calvary Baptist Church welcomed nearly 80 ladies for a refreshing Ladies’ Mini Retreat. This year’s event looked a little different—rather than

meeting at a camp or conference center, the retreat was held right here at the church and was planned as a one-day gathering.

We were honored to have Rebekah Tarbert Irwin, of Velveteen Pottery, as our guest speaker. Rebekah is a potter, business owner, wife, mother, and devoted follower of Jesus. She first discovered her love for pottery in high school, but after experiencing deep personal loss—losing her first husband in 2019—she came to view her craft not only as creative expression but also as a gift from God: a way to heal, to build, and to provide for her family.

Her story and teaching carried themes of restoration and faith, encouraging each woman present to see beauty and purpose even in hard seasons.

We are thankful for Rebekah’s message, for all who contributed to making the day possible, and for every lady who came out to be encouraged, to worship, and to grow together in Christ.
