Volunteers from Calvary Baptist Church are preparing to join others from across the region and the country for a mission trip to Central West Virginia from June 21 through 26. This trip offers a chance to follow Jesus’ example by serving those in need and sharing hope through practical help and faith. The church community is invited to support the team with prayer as they get ready for this important work.

Serving with Vision Appalachia

Vision Appalachia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of families in Central Appalachia through home repair and community support. Led by Rev. Jesse & Debbie Boggs, regular guest speaker and longtime friends of Calvary Baptist, the mission focuses on repairing homes, improving safety, and providing comfort to families who struggle with poverty and aging housing conditions. Volunteers will work on tasks such as:

  • Fixing roofs and porches

  • Installing insulation and weatherproofing

  • Repairing steps and handrails

  • Painting and cleaning homes

These projects not only improve living conditions but also show God’s love in a tangible way. The work requires physical effort, teamwork, and a heart for service.

Preparing the Team Spiritually and Practically

Prayer requests for the church body include:

  • Strength and health for all volunteers

  • Open hearts among the families served

  • Opportunities to share faith naturally

By praying for these needs, the church supports the mission beyond physical work.
