Vision Appalachia Trip 2026
Ten members of Calvary's congregation joined a larger team of over 75 volunteers from 9 states this past June
to help make Vision Appalachia's mission week in Central West Virginia a huge success.
Xtreme Kids Camp
Between 70 to 90 kids were presented with the gospel during a fun-filled week of action packed sports, games, crafts, snacks, songs, and Bible Lessons. Sport stations included Cheerleading, Karate, Basketball, and Soccer! Over 20 children responded to calls for salvation during the week!
Construction Projects
Construction teams worked on several dire needs across Clay and Kanahwa Counties throughout the week, including building a handicap accessible deck/ramp, painting and repairing worn infrastructure at the Charleston Union Mission, replacing rotting boards and stairs on a porch, installation of a brand new roof and siding in Sissonville, painting at Pleasant Island Camp in Elkview, and construction of an entire new home in Clay County!
Picnic in the Parking Lot
The week concluded with a large community picnic outside Elkview Baptist Church in Elkview, West Virginia. Strings of Green, a bluegrass family group, performed a fantastic set and Vince Charming, acclaimed local magician, put on an entertaining show for the kids!
